Quick Answer
Choose the Vauen Oregon 146 if you prefer a half bent Rhodesian shape that rests comfortably in hand; pick the Gulliver 138 if you want a bent stand up shape that sits securely on a flat surface.
Shape and Handling: Half Bent Rhodesian vs Bent Stand Up
The Oregon 146's half bent Rhodesian shape offers a classic, slightly curved profile that balances well when held. The Gulliver 138's bent stand up shape is designed to stand upright on its own, making it convenient for resting between sips.
Both pipes are made from briar and feature acrylic mouthpieces, but their different shapes affect how they feel in the hand and on the table.
Filter System: 9 mm Compatibility
Both pipes accept 9 mm filters, giving you the option to use charcoal or other filter types to customize your smoke. This is a shared feature that simplifies filter selection if you already use 9 mm filters.
If you prefer a more direct draw, you can use the pipes without a filter, but the 9 mm chamber will remain wider than a non-filter pipe.
